Saints Baseball Summer Series Showcases Regional Talent

Mid-July in the Pacific Northwest is a great time of the year for many reasons. For baseball lovers it’s the perfect time of the year. With the summer heat finally here in the PWN it makes for an enjoyable time at the ball park.

For Saint Martin’s University Baseball Team in Lacey, WA that means it’s time for their yearly summer series tournament. Historically, this event has brought out club teams from as far as Hawaii to partake in the event. This year 16 teams participated in games at SMU and University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. Saint Martin’s Baseball Field takes center stage as one of the best grass fields in the area.

We were able to swing by the field to catch a game between the Northwest Reign out of the Tacoma/Puyallup, WA area versus the Rock Creek Elite out of Seattle, WA. Players and fans couldn’t have asked for a better game experience between the ball field and beautiful weather.

The Reign were able to pull out a 5-1 win over Rock Creek behind solid pitching of starter Jared Hanson, who pitched a complete game. Game continue through the weekend.
