April 29, 2022 will easily go down as one of the greatest days in Saint Martin’s University Saints’ baseball history. It featured not one, but two thrilling comeback walk-off victories over Central Washington 6-5, and 12-11.
The Saints have been moving in an upward trend through the backend of the season. As it comes to a close they’re fighting for the last spot in the playoffs sitting one game back of Montana State Billings.

The first game of the series was a back and forth affair as both teams traded leads deep into the bottom of the ninth inning. At that point the Saints overcame a one run deficit to win the game on a bases loaded single by Ryne Oshiro to win bring in two run for the walk-off win.

In game two, which is only seven innings, the Saints went down early as Central Washington’s bats came alive. By the top of third the Saints were down 10-2. In addition, the Saints starter was tossed after a hit batter. It didn’t look great for the Saints, but they didn’t falter. Instead, their bats came alive ultimately winning the game 12-11 on a walk-off single by Schaler.
