As the GNAC Softball season inches closer to the end the battle for the top spot heats up. In a game between the Saint Martin’s University Saints against Northwest Nazarene the battle couldn’t be closer.

Game one proved to be a defensive battle as the pitching from NNU and SMU kept the game close. In the end the Saint prevailed notching the only run while shutting out the NNU batters to get the win.

In game two the offense began to find it’s stride on both sides going run for run into the third inning (3-3). Things stay knotted up going into the seventh inning when the Saints hit one out of the park winning the game and claiming the series victory heading getting that much closer to the top spot in the GNAC.
